💬 The Latchis Theatre is downtown Brattleboro's 1938 'Greco Deco' movie palace, built by four Greek-immigrant brothers to honor their father Demetrius and one of only two Art Deco buildings still in use in Vermont. Inside the 750-seat main auditorium, murals of Greek deities by artist Louis Jambour, terrazzo floors, and a starry ceiling make every screening feel like an event. Nonprofit-owned since 2003, the theatre programs first-run and art-house films plus special events, from Met: Live in HD broadcasts to classic film nights and comedy shows.
