💬 Mountain Top Resort is a four-season Green Mountain escape on more than 700 private acres overlooking the Chittenden Reservoir, minutes from Killington. The resort traces its roots to a 19th-century Long family turnip farm, transformed in the 1940s into a romantic mountain retreat and later made famous under the Wolfe family, who hosted President Eisenhower and established a cross-country ski center in 1964 that remains the oldest in the country. Rebuilt in traditional post-and-beam style after a 1977 fire, it now offers lodge rooms, cabins, and guest homes alongside a tavern pouring Vermont craft brews, a full-service spa, horseback riding, a private beach, and winter sleigh rides.
