💬 The Paramount Theatre is a historic performance theatre in downtown Rutland at 30 Center Street. Built in 1912–1913 by George T. Chaffee as The Playhouse and renamed the Paramount in 1931, the ornate Victorian-style theatre was fully restored and reopened with a gala in March 2000. With around 840 seats, it now hosts live music concerts, stand-up comedy, Broadway-caliber touring shows, classic films, and community events as Rutland's leading arts, cultural, and educational venue. The theatre is a contributing property to the Rutland Downtown Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
