💬 Vermont's tallest structure is a 306-foot stone obelisk in Old Bennington honoring the American victory at the Battle of Bennington, a turning-point battle of the Revolutionary War fought in 1777. An elevator carries visitors to an observation deck at 200 feet with sweeping views across Vermont, Massachusetts, and New York. The grounds include a visitor center with exhibits on the battle, a gift shop, and landscaped paths. The monument is open daily 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the season, typically through October 31.
