A classic small Vermont lake (219 acres) at the foot of 2,608-foot Mount Elmore, about 15 minutes from Morrisville. A warm-water fishery that freezes solid for popular ice fishing in winter. The state park's sandy beach, fire-tower hike, and campground make it a full family day.

🥾 Getting there: The concrete boat launch is the VT Fish & Wildlife Vaughn M. Douglass Fishing Access Area on Camp Road (southeast shore) -- not Elmore State Park, which offers only canoe/kayak beach access.
